Project Manager – Engineering and Continuous Improvement

Reporting to the Director of Engineering and Maintenance, the Project Manager in Engineering and Continuous Improvement plays a central role in developing, optimizing, and implementing catalyst processing equipment. This role includes active involvement in setting up a new production line in the U.S. and supporting production supervisors in continuous improvement initiatives to maximize cell performance.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on the design, prototyping, and development of industrial equipment for catalyst processing
  • Conduct research to identify and evaluate new products and suppliers aligned with production and quality needs
  • Coordinate key project phases including planning, installation, and equipment start-up
  • Liaise with local teams (production, maintenance, quality) to ensure compliance with production and quality standards
  • Analyze production cell performance indicators and identify areas for improvement
  • Train and support production supervisors on Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Develop and implement targeted action plans to increase productivity and reduce waste
  • Write, update, and archive technical documentation, operating procedures, and KPIs
  • Ensure processes are documented according to company standards

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or industrial equipment
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (PFMEA, VSM, standardized work instructions)
  • Bilingual (French/English)
  • Willingness and availability to travel frequently to the U.S. for project follow-up
  • Proven leadership and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor)
  • Programming knowledge (VBA, Python, C#) is a plus
  • Experience in industrial project management, continuous improvement, and production line implementation
