We are seeking a motivated and experienced Scrap Metal Buyer, specializing in non-ferrous materials such as insulated wire, to join our team in Boisbriand. In this key role, you will support the supply chain and contribute to the efficiency of our recycling processes.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and purchase non-ferrous scrap metal from various other businesses, including scrap metal yards and automotive recyclers.
- Work in close coordination with the customer service and after-sales teams to ensure seamless and efficient handling of all transactions
- Inspect and grade insulated wire to ensure it meets company standards, and review grading when necessary to determine its value and suitability for processing.
- Explain, review and discuss the recovery process and operating model to provide transparency with new customers.
- Maintain communication with suppliers to ensure satisfaction and foster long-term relationships for future business.
- Maintain and update company records for proposals, purchases, and supplier interactions.
- Monitor market trends and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
- Meet and exceed productivity targets.
- Up to 25% travel is required, including attendance at industry events, meetings, and on-site inspections.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of proven experience in purchasing non-ferrous materials.
- Indepth knowledge of insulated wire (a major asset).
- Bilingualism required: Proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written. This position requires working with written documents in English and French and involves regular communication with suppliers located outside and in Quebec.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience with a CRM and Microsoft Office (Hubspot, Excel, word, powerpoint).
- Ability to analyze data and make strategic purchasing decisions.
- Knowledge of market trends and industry standards.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
