PMR is currently seeking a Financial Controller to join their team in Boisbriand.

The Financial Controller will act as a key pillar of the finance/accounting department. They will oversee department operations and team management to ensure sound financial management while adhering to compliance related to their responsibilities.

This opportunity is suitable for those seeking a position in a small to medium-sized enterprise (SME), with significant interaction with senior management to provide analysis and recommendations. The successful candidate must be prepared to support various locations in Canada and the United States, as well as satellite companies. WE NEED YOU TO:

  • Implement policies, internal controls, and business processes.
  • Plan and coordinate the entire accounting cycle, including payables, receivables, and treasury.
  • Analyze financial data and formulate recommendations (profit margins, profitability, performance, etc.).
  • Supervise and monitor market risk exposure.
  • Coordinate month-end processes to prepare financial reports, including monthly and annual consolidated financial statements, and present them to the executive committee.
  • Actively participate in the budgeting process.
  • Manage and monitor cash flows.
  • Oversee and coordinate work required to comply with regulatory requirements (Canada and USA).
  • Lead the annual audit and activities of external auditors.
  • Evaluate current accounting activities and offer recommendations to improve and/or implement new processes or tools.
  • Collaborate with senior management on strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in decisions related to company financing.
  • Participate in recruiting, training, and managing personnel in the accounting and finance department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and a CPA designation.
  • Relevant experience in an SME or multinational organization.
  • Bilingual proficiency (French and English) both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel functions.
  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Initiative and proactivity.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt in an abstract and evolving environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in a family-owned business environment is an asset.
